Long post warning! When folks ask us if we are gon Long post warning!
When folks ask us if we are gonna miss this…the honest answer is…not all of it. Not the 5 am wake up calls, the broken blenders, sweeping and mopping, all the dishes, the constant problems solving, and a few things we just can’t mention because you just have to be here to know!

But days like today and people like this, we will miss the very most!!! This group of bikers called the week we announced we were closing to make sure we would be able to accommodate them on their annual ride. They assured us they would ride rain or shine, but with todays weather forecast, we fully expected a smattering of folks to show up. Instead of the roar of motorcycles, this wonderful group for folks rolled up in cars and stayed true to a little coffee shop that they owed absolutely nothing to! They laughed, ate lots of ice cream, drank coffee and shared their hearts with us this afternoon! What a ray of sunshine on a rainy day! We really think the church by and large could learn a thing or two from this group! We were honored to have you all in our house today for the final time and encourage our spirits in this season!
Because many have asked, we wanted you to know a l Because many have asked, we wanted you to know a little information...

We have been honored over the years to be a condui We have been honored over the years to be a conduit that allowed you, our customers, to support ministries locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Over the last nearly 5 years, your generous tips allowed us to distribute $96,956.37 to some 35 different ministries. We discovered many unique ministries like Redemption Ink Atlanta that uses the artistry of tattoo to cover scars & brands from abusers as well as The Ark Family Preservation Center that seeks to put families together after being broken by drugs, abuse, neglect or other detrimental circumstances. It is our hope that you will now directly seek out and support these ministries because they are all doing marvelous work in the name of Jesus!

Would you do it for one person? That was the ques Would you do it for one person? That was the question someone asked when we began ALL the planning for Centerfield almost 8 years ago! The answer was a resounding yes!

There are so many "one's" but there was only ONE Dieter. He was a kind and gentle man who loved his chicken salad, daily drip coffee, German newspaper and Royston t-shirt. He enjoyed sitting near the espresso machine so he could chat with the barista on shift. He loved wearing his corny t-shirts, talking about his love of Michigan and Germany. He loved to bring @andre_the_barista jokes that he had clipped out of the newspaper. He enjoyed connecting with Emmanuel College folks - Jon Campbell and Josh Hafner, we knew he had found “home” at Centerfield when he asked the fellas for help at his house one day. He met his daughter for lunch at Centerfield on many days. He won over the heart of our general manager, @cindycarlson23 and she doted over him every day as if he were her own grandfather! Cindy said "I knew if Dieter hadn’t arrived to Centerfield by 10:30 am daily, that it was time to text his daughter to see if he was doing ok." In May of 2021, we threw Dieter a surprise birthday party at Centerfield. When he walked through the doors he was so surprised, with tears in his eyes, he said, “for me”? It was a real treat for us to host him as a guest at graduation Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in May 2021 but over the next several months, his health would decline and in December 2021, we lost our one. We loved Dieter and the joy he brought to Centerfield, but the question today is, what would you do for one person? How far would you go to share yourself, your faith and your time with one person? Who is your one?
We hope you will drop in to join us for lunch one We hope you will drop in to join us for lunch one day this week! Alice loves trying new stuff, so this Wednesday you could be the recipient of her latest creation....the Chicken Burrito Bowl! We have lots of coffee, lots of chicken salad, pimento cheese, muffins and more!
The last couple of weeks we have had a guest cooke The last couple of weeks we have had a guest cooker in our kitchen! Our wonderful breakfast cook Keith Moon has been battling a few health issues so Pastor Chris Pritchett jumped in to help us make breakfast for you on Saturdays! He has been up early making sure he got it just right for you! We appreciate that "whatever it takes" attitude and are grateful we were able to continue to serve while Keith has been recuperating! We hope to see him back in the kitchen sometime soon! Join us on Saturday! We begin serving at 8am!
